Types of inpatient surgical interventions in the maxillofacial region

1) Traumatological operations:

– Reduction, metal osteosynthesis of fractures of the facial bones.

– Treatment of old, improperly consolidated fractures (refraction and reduction).

– Temporary immobilization of the upper and lower jaws with dental splints or intermaxillary fixation screws.

2) Operations to remove neoplasms:

– Removal of neoplasms of the maxillofacial region and neck.

– Removal of cysts.

3) Orthognathic surgery:

– Osteotomy of the lower jaw

– Lefort I, II, III osteotomies

– Genioplasty

4) Operations for purulent-inflammatory diseases:

– Gentle maxillorotomy with plastic removal of the oro-antral junction.

– Opening, drainage of purulent-inflammatory diseases (abscesses, phlegmons, etc.)

– Removal of salivary gland calculi.

– Sialoadenectomy.

– Treatment of osteonecrosis.

5) Reconstructive and plastic surgeries:

– Bone grafting of the alveolar process of the jaws from the iliac crest.

– Reconstruction of the orbital walls with a patient-specific implant made of REEK or titanium.

– Replacement of the temporomandibular joint with an individualized two-component implant made of titanium and REEK.

– Reconstruction of facial bones with patient-specific implants.
