Periodontitis – gum disease, consequences, treatment.
With the progression of gum disease, people begin to develop complexes. Often patients come with complaints that they cannot lead a full life – smile, kiss, eat what they want, communicate freely at work and at home. In fact, the reason is that the prevention of periodontal tissue diseases in our country is at an unsatisfactory level. Professional oral hygiene is not enough, it is necessary to carry out preventive cleanings, and early diagnosis of periodontal tissue diseases in order to diagnose the problem in the early stages and eliminate it.
In my opinion, periodontal tissue diseases are much more serious and dangerous than dental diseases.
When caries appears, it can be eliminated, canals can also be treated, a crown can be installed on a tooth, a veneer, etc. But there are many more problems if gum disease occurs. Periodontal tissues are the foundation of teeth, implants, fillings, crowns and restorations. If the progression of periodontal diseases is allowed, then the foundation will not be reliable enough, then the teeth and implants will fall out, along with all the expensive fillings and crowns.
Now there are many ways to replace a lost or partially destroyed tooth, but this is just a “prosthesis” that will not be able to function 100%. Neither implants, nor veneers, nor fillings will function longer and more reliably than their healthy teeth!
